The 16-Slice PCI Global DAS Interface Processor (Global DIP) acts as the main interface between Helios 16-slice MDAS and Global Recon Engine (GRE) Subsystem. It receives scan data in a high-speed serial stream from the slip ring interface and transmits it to the main memory of the Data Acquisition and Recon Controller (DARC). At the completion of this scan data direct memory access (DMA), the GDIP-16 card generates a PCI interrupt. This board is a half-length peripheral component interconnect (PCI) add-in card that plugs into a PCI-standard interface located on the DARC board. GDIP-16 conforms to the PCI Bus Specification PCI SIG v2.2. It comes with 850nm fiber-optic transceiver to 62.5/125 glass fiber optic cable for the slip ring interface and data loopback, Card edge connector for the 64-bit PCI interface and a 9-pin SUB-D connector for the X-ray Abort and RHARD signal chains. The Board is a complete surface mount, except for the fiber optic connectors and 9-pin Sub-D connector. This board can be used with VCT, Lightspeed (RT, 16, Pro 16 Ultra, Plus and Qxi), Discovery ST (4 Slice, 8 Slice and 16 Slice) and Discovery STE (8 Slice and 16 Slice) systems.
